A US Air Pressure F-35B fighter jet crashed after it collided with an aerial refueling tanker on Tuesday, a US marines unit mentioned.
The pilot of the F-35B jet ejected and was once being handled, whilst the group of the KC-130J refueling airplane had landed safely, the third Marine Airplane Wing mentioned.
The crash befell over Imperial County, California, ABC Information reported.
“At roughly 1600 it was once reported that an F-35B made touch with a KC-130J all over an air-to-air refueling evolution, ensuing within the crash of the F-35B,” the third Marine Airplane Wing mentioned in a tweet.
The reason for the crash was once below investigation, the marines mentioned.
The refueling airplane had returned to Thermal Airport and all group individuals had been secure, it added.
